Our ECT Talent Pool is now open for 2024!

Norfolk also has great CPD programmes to develop you throughout your career. 

The ECT Talent Pool supports you to find your first teaching role in Norfolk. All educational establishments have access to our well-established pool to seek candidates for upcoming roles.

We want you to apply to our talent pool if:






  • you are currently working through teacher training and looking to secure your first teaching post for September 2024 or
  • you completed your training last year but didn’t manage to secure a position just yet or
  • either of the above criteria applies and you are interested in working in a special school or special educational needs setting. Please indicate your interest in your application.

Our ECT Talent Pool is regularly accessed by customers across Norfolk and Suffolk and is also proactively promoted by us. We can help maximise your chances of finding a suitable post.

You can make it clear what your preferences are e.g. geographical location, subject specialism and/or phase.

Being in the ECT Talent Pool will not prevent you from making applications direct to recruiting schools if you wish, but it will increase your chances of securing a suitable post early on - your application may get sent to a school; you had not considered or; before they have even advertised - we often get schools requesting to view ECT applications prior to starting recruitment.  You can get ahead of the pack.

Schools will request searches from us based on their needs. Please be aware your application will only be sent to schools who request a search, should you meet their criteria.

How to apply

If you would like us to assist you in your search for your first teaching post, please click apply now. You will be asked to log in or create a teacher booker account, then be redirected to apply using our online form. 

Once you have completed and submitted your application, you will be in the ECT Talent Pool.

All schools/academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To this end, you may be required to undergo pre-employment checks.

If a matched post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, the successful applicant will be required to completed a declaration from to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.

Some posts will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and if this is the case, you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
