Vibrant Art and Culture

We can only touch on the diversity represented in the various areas of Norfolk, it is such a massive part of the County’s heartbeat.  However, it’s worth knowing the County has many galleries, theatres, festivals, live music, one of the largest clusters of digital businesses in the UK, amazing built heritage including two cathedrals and a grand Norman castle, plus Norwich has status as England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.  Norwich is the hub but other parts of Norfolk give it more than a run for its money.

Look to West Norfolk for the annual King’s Lynn Poetry and Fiction Festivals and the Hunstanton Festival of Arts.  Or visit the striking collections at Great Yarmouth’s Time and Tide Museum and the town’s historic Hippodrome Circus.

The Norfolk and Norwich Festival needs a mention, as the fourth biggest festival in the UK.  It is a 16 day celebration of creativity, culture and the arts which reaches over 350,000 people.  It includes classical and modern music, visual arts and literature events as well as featuring performers from around the world.

We don’t mind if you look more widely than Norfolk, too!  There are limitless options a short journey away, with Cambridge 45 minutes away from Thetford and London 2 hours by train from King’s Lynn or Norwich.
