Bignold Primary School (and nursery) has a friendly, welcoming and diverse learning community where children are enabled to have ambitious and responsible aspirations for themselves and for others. Our popular school has a growing number on roll and was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2022.
The school is located in the heart of the city, no more than a few steps from the bustling city centre
shops. This enables us to benefit from all of the wonderful learning experiences that Norwich has to offer within walking distance of the school. We occupy an unusually large footprint for our school site, with a range of grounds around the school, including a forest school area, nursery and before and after school provision.
Staff at Bignold Primary are committed to providing the best support for the children in the school,
helping every child succeed, irrespective of background or starting point. Staff create a safe, healthy and supportive school culture and ethos which creates the conditions for every pupil to thrive. All of the staff have a shared vision to challenge and nurture the individuality of the next generation, inspiring all of our children to achieve, become lifelong learners and good citizens, who make positive contributions to society. Recent changes in the school curriculum have ensured a curriculum offer which focuses on progressive skills and knowledge development and is ambitious for our pupils. This year we are building on this and prioritising staff development to ensure this curriculum is well implemented and leads to improved outcomes.
