An opportunity has arisen for a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our already strong Pastoral team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient, caring and positive Pastoral Support Assistant to join our already strong Pastoral team.  

Our federation consists of six junior/primary schools and we are looking to recruit someone who is keen to develop and maintain effective and supportive relationships with our pupils, providing a calm, positive, clear and consistent approach to working with them.

As a Pastoral Support Assistant in our schools, you will provide a complementary service throughout the schools that enhances our existing provision in order to support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to develop their self-esteem, self-confidence and ‘can do’ attitude.  

The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the Pastoral Manager and school staff to support a range of pupils within KS1 and KS2 across our schools.

Our schools are very inclusive and put a real focus on providing an excellent provision for children. We are seeking to appoint someone who has a commitment to inclusive practices and would like the opportunity to work with children and provide them with appropriate support as required. 

We are looking to appoint a flexible and committed person who:

  • can provide high quality care and support for children, dealing with pastoral needs across the schools enabling our children to flourish, 
  • can build positive relationships with children
  • is able to work collaboratively with external agencies, including signposting and making onwards referrals. 
  • is able to use their own initiative
  • can work collaboratively by liaising with other members of our school communities
  • has good written and verbal communication skills
  • has a professional manner
  • has attention to detail and able to manage a varied workload, whilst retaining the highest possible standards
  • is warm, understanding, motivated, reflective and patient with a positive outlook
  • enjoys working as part of a team
  • is able to travel between school sites
