Come and join our growing team and be part of the successful ‘Broad Horizons Education Trust’.

Bure Park Specialist Academy is seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants as part of our three year growth plan. The academy teaches pupils from primary through to secondary and therefore it is important in your application to state the age range you prefer to work with. There is availability in both areas as the academy staff are flexible as to the areas that they support. This type of flexibility helps with achieving promoted posts.

There are also opportunities to work additional hours within the residential care team if staff wish to.

The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 – 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally.

Our school shares the vision of our sponsor, the Broad Horizons Education Trust, that improving the life chances of all pupils has to be at the heart of all we do.  To achieve this Broad Horizons firmly believes in valuing and championing all members of staff employed throughout the trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be part of a highly motivated exceptional team who strive to  establish the highest standards and who are instrumental in ensuring that we change children’s lives.

The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidates will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.  The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

This permanent Teaching Assistant post will be 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days. The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.

The successful applicants must be prepared to undergo any further training as requested by the Trust and will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore you will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations.

The postholder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.

Further information about the Academy can be found on our website: www.bureparkacademy.co.uk or by contacting Miss H Ross Headteacher on 01493 807390.

A visit to the Academy (by appointment) is encouraged.
